all the characters on sonic ,wear gloves but sega never explained the reason , well most of the humans in the series do not wear gloves .

they do not need them ,do they?
I am exploring two theories about this.

Either
A ) The gloves were initially added to go with the cartoony look of the original Sonic, and they just kinda stuck

B ) It was the general belief of Sonic Team that actually drawing hands for Sonic wouldn't really look as appealing.

My friend's theory is that, back in the '90s, it was popular to give cartoon characters gloves.

MY theory is it was a way to get around the, "Does Sonic have fingernails, or claws?"
If he doesn't have toes, i guess he has no claws...

Well I agree with Jason He is japensee excluding his Shoes, the shoes of sonic were based of michael jackson's shoes (at some point I don't know when) and also this question is like asking why kirby likes to eat so much

Easier to animate, no knuckles or fingernails to draw and shade, same true of Marvel and DC characters (the list goes on and on)
